Bellevue (Copenhagen)

Arne Jacobsen did some buildings in Denmark, and especially in Copenhagen: SAS Royal Hotel, Danish National Bank... But my favorite area is Bellevue.

Be ready to travel to the 30’s. The first spot is the gas station, hard to know if you are in the past or in the future: rounded shapes, all walls covered with white tiles, and a beautiful clock with red spots. Then you’ll find the housing (lucky the ones who live there), the Theater and a restaurant. At the other side of the road there’s the beach. Even there Jacobsen designed a guard tower. In my opinion, is the best place to spend a hot afternoon in the Danish big city.

Addresses:
Texaco gas-station, Kystvejen, Skovshoved
Bellavista housing, Strandvejen 419-451, Klampenborg
Bellevue Teatret‎ – Strandvejen 451, 2930 Klampenborg, Denmark

It was my first visit there in about 20 years. I took the chance and packed as many cameras as possible into my luggage. In this article, I'm going to present to you the photos I took with my Nikon F-501 SLR.

Well, let's see...

Reviving An Old Polaroid 1000 Camera

Some time ago, my parents-in-law gave me an old Polaroid camera that they used during my wife's childhood. After some investigation, I found out that Polaroid had stopped making instant film. But the factory in Enschedé, the Netherlands had been taken over by The Impossible Project, so I bought a package of fresh film and gave it a try!
