The Diana Duel!

32

Here ye, here ye Diana Dukes and Duchesses! The time has come to remove your gloves and slap your opponents with your best Diana photos. Put on your (plastic) suits of amour as this is a joust for not only glory and honor, but for the hand of the fair lady of fame.

Here ye, here ye Diana Dukes and Duchesses! The time has come to remove your gloves and slap your opponents with your best Diana photos. Put on your (plastic) suits of armor as this is a joust for not only glory and honor, but for the hand of the fair lady of fame. Upload your best Diana shots and the winners of this revolutionary rumble will hear the fanfare that comes with being one of the first Diana amigos and take home a soon to be unveiled, limited edition Diana clone!

This affaire d’honneur will end in exactly one week, so sharpen your lances and may the most cunning knights win!

Please submit your photos with at least 768px either width or height.

There is 10 picture upload limit.

The winners of this rumble will not be judged by a single photo but by their submitted photos as a whole.

    Whoo! I love my Diana, I tried to pick the 10 I think would represent the most diversity, since there's just SO much you can do with her! 35mm, redscale, pinhole, multiple exposures, endless panoramas...can't wait to see the winners!

    i know i'm an old seadog on lomo, and i may appear oldish, but i'm a bit sad of this marketting forcing around the Diana ( even if i'm sure i'll buy one) ...... because during this time, my good old Holga ( and all the shots I've made with) feels a bit abandoned in all these rumbles .... isn't it ?

    I still remember the disapointment with the first two rolls and the wonder I've felt when the first good results are coming out from this incredible camera, now that I've mounted the 35mm back I need one other Diana+ for the 120mm :)

    It is frustrating to me that the judges here have even said that if they have already seen a particular picture before, it doesn't have as good a chance at winning. So it is very possible for a picture that is much better to be overlooked because there are others the judges haven't seen. I REALLY want to enter this, but I am waiting to here about the Colette book competition, which means a lot to me, so I don't want to lessen my chances for either one of them by submitting some of the same pictures. It is very expensive to keep up a medium format film habit, after all, and I don't exactly have hundreds...

    @myloveletter

    i'm pretty sure in this competition that it won't matter if the shots have been seen before... this is all about just whoever submits the best photos... we want the first people who become "amigos" for these cameras to be outstanding lomographers who really know how to get the most out of these cameras... so just submit your best shots, and keep your chin up and your pockets full of film! ;)

    I am a Mad Analogue Scientist: New Experiments with 35mm Films and Chemicals

    Unfortunately, it happens sometimes that your resulting pictures are not what you expected - the image doesn't look that good, the colors are bland, and the subject is banal. Indeed, it couldn't be picture of the year! Herein I propose a second chance for your pictures by modifying your 35mm negatives. Just pick up some ideas from here, experiment, and scan your negatives with the Lomography Smartphone Scanner. Anything is possible: burning, scratching, putting on hydrochloric acid, balsamic vinegar, nail polish, bleach, or raspberry juice... use your imagination and write down your new film soup recipe! You can find a sample of the effects in this article.

    What Art Can Learn from the Banal

    Stephen Shore introduced to the 70s art world an unadorned image of American life. He captured littered restaurant tables as other photographers would immaculate vistas. For the opening of “American Surfaces”, he even taped unframed snapshots on gallery walls. In these videos, Shore talks about objects that have “no pretention to art” and the things he learned from Andy Warhol.

    Object of My Affection: Subbuteo

    In my early adolescence, I liked to play table football. For my 12th birthday, my parents gifted me with a wonderful Subbuteo table soccer game set that I had wished for many months! This was my favorite toy until I discovered other interesting hobbies, like ham radio and electronics. So after some years, I gave away this game to other kids. I always remembered this game with pleasure and a hint of nostalgia.
