New Feature: Add Time and Date to Your Photos

44

We've added a new feature in the lab and photos: adding a date and time to your photos. In this article we'll let you know how to do that and tell you where to find it (right now hidden) in photos.

This photos was taken during dusk in April 2010, sorry, don’t remember the day

In the Lab if you’ve selected some photos you will notice a new section: Assign a time and date. Time is pretty straightforward, you can choose between dawn, morning, noon, afternoon, dusk and night – because with analog photography who knows the exact time? Same with date: sometimes you only remember the year, maybe the month and on special occasions the day. Our selector works like this: select a year, then you will be shown the months of this year, and after selecting a month you will see the possible days.

So start putting in the information. But where can you see these photos then? There are two (right now hidden) sections in Photos: Time and Date. We will wait until enough photos are available, then we’ll unlock these.

And there is more: on Tuesday we will give out 10 piggies to 5 random lomographers who have used this feature! Let us know in the comments what you think of this feature, report any bugs, … Thanks!

this is a great feature, but something is weird: when i assign year and month, but no day, only the year shows up in my home (e.g.pics in this album: www.lomography.com/homes/scorpie/albums/1682035-benrath/pho… - i've assigned a month too, but it doesn't show up). and when i assign all three (year, month and day) only year and month show up, but not the day (e.g. pics in this album: www.lomography.com/homes/scorpie/albums/1681229-lomo-nightw…)

Mine isn't working....I've tried to assign the time/day/month/year but it doesn't seem to be saving. It doesn't have that short loading symbol that pops up for a couple seconds when you save other things (tags, cameras, films, etc.) If it's supposed to show up under the photos, it's not working :(

@superlighter: thanks! but the date seems fine in the shot? in the detail view of the photo i see a link to www.lomography.com/photos/date/1985-05-05 – isn't that correct?

  36. superlighter
    superlighter ·

@recurving mmm..yes! but when I open a photo I have only the year-month and time in the photo data is this the correct way the new feature should work?
