2011 is the year of the Rabbit and in conjunction with the Sentosa Flowers Exhibition, I had the chance to go to Sentosa Island and celebrate Chinese New Year with my family.
Sentosa Island is located at the South of Singapore. You can get there by trains, buses or cars and even you can walk through the flower-lined boardwalk bridging Sentosa to the mainland.
During the season of Chinese New Year, Sentosa holds an event called “Sentosa Flowers”. This year, Sentosa Flowers is themed “Spring Wonderland” as spring is considered the most beautiful season among the four. Most of the flowers are in bloom at this time and come in all types of species. There are unique and exciting new exhibits, such as lollipop trees, giant flowers and floral spring rabbits. You’re bound to have a wonderful time capturing every moments at this year’s exhibition.
Resorts World and Universal Studios Singapore are located at Sentosa Island as well. I was amazed by those candy trees all over the corridor. Although they are fake, colorful lollipops, chocolate bars, and candies hang on the tree. These trees were made by the world’s largest candy store, “Candylicious”. You can find the candies and chocolates from all over the world here.
Universal Studios Singapore is just a 3-minute walk from the “Candylicious” store. You can see a huge globe placed at the main entrance of the themed park. There are also a few shops along the side of the main entrance, which are Garrett Popcorn, Hershey’s Chocolate, Souvenir Store and many more.
If you’re tired walking around the island, they provide free tram rides and shuttle bus. There are more attracting destinations in the mainland of Sentosa Island. For more info, please follow the link here: http://www.sentosa.com.sg and explore it.
