Leuven

Although it isn't the most famous city in Belgium and one could claim it is fairly small, I think Leuven is one of the greatest cities this country has to offer. Come during the day time and look at historical buildings, housing projects from the sixties, one of the prisons (we have two of them, both 19th century), have a drink on one of the many squares or BYO in one of the parks.

At night time the city has many bars, clubs and venues at your service, and the parks are only a fence-jump away. Not to mention all of this within a ten-minute walking range. The city centre is inhabited by almost 30.000 students, who make up almost half of the population. This is not only the reason for the many nightlife opportunities, but is also reflected in the major types of crime committed: the “displacement” of shopping carts and bikes. But if you have an expensive lock on yours feel free to come and visit.

I agree for the greater part of it, I study Architecture there and i must say it's a great city to visit but not to live, if it hadn't been for the great university and all of its services i would have already left there :) but hey, there's allways a time and place to have fun there to
