Let's Go Back to the Past : The Time Tunnel Museum, Cameron Highlands

3

I caught a glimpse of how it looks like from one of my friend's album a few months ago. Wow! This is located at Cameron Highlands? I'm so excited to see it, so I decided to plan a trip there.

It is located between Equatorial Hotel and Brinchang Town. You can easily spot the gallery (on the left) if you drive from Equatorial Hotel towards Brinchang Town, the signage is also big enough to attract you.

The museum is stuffed with a lot of old, historical, vintage stuff, which is able to bring back a lot of old childhood memories when I was small, and some of the stuff there are even so much more older than me. Like those of little things that were once part of our daily lives. The old-school coffee cup, coffee table, newspaper, wooden chair, it’s the old ‘kopi tiam’ (coffee house) era! Oh my, it’s indeed a very interesting place!

There’s also so many old cans, old tins, old bottles of carbonated drinks’ (e.g Coca Cola, F&N etc.), old-school phone, vintage signboards, posters, toothpaste, toys, and so much more.

I can’t help but spend nearly two hours in this tiny but wonderful museum. It’s a super wonderful place. I will recommend this to everyone who wanted to pay a visit to this cooling highland in Malaysia.

Ciao! LOL!

Summer Hot Spots: Escaping the Heat at Cameron Highlands

It’s normal during summer to be out there at the beach, sunbathing and getting yourself a nice tan, but in Malaysia, it could get pretty hot this time of the year. With the rising temperature, my friends and I decided to escape the heat of the city for a while and took an approximately three-hour drive to Cameron Highlands.

What Else Can You Do with Lactase?

A few months ago, I thought I had an intolerance against the milk sugar lactose. I got stomach aches every time I ate something with milk in it so I used lactase to prevent it. But when I consulted a doctor to be tested, they said it was something else.

Solo Biking Routes: Ubud in Bali, Indonesia

Have you all watched "Eat, Pray, Love"? I was inspired by Julia Roberts, who rode a bicycle in that movie, so I decided to rent one and try it myself! This happened two years ago but I still remember my biking route. To all of you who haven't been to Ubud, I think you should visit the place and try to go around in a bicycle!

    Fresh from the Lab: 1990

A weekend without a lomowalk seems bad, at least for me. One Saturday morning, I decided to join my friends in their lomowalk. It was all cloudy at first but it didn't stop me from going out and walking. I brought my new Nikon FM2 and some expired rolls, just to test my camera. Was it just me being sleepy, or was my Nikon FM2 acting up? My photos turned out grainy, pale, and, in my opinion, looking so 1990s?

The World According to Herr Willie: The Amazon

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.

A Salute to the Masters: Paestum (A Tribute to Serge Moulinier)

This article is dedicated to Serge Moulinier, a largely unknown French photographer who won one of the most important prizes in France with a book on Greek architecture. Strangely, few information can be found on the Internet about this great photographer whose work had also been published in an important essay written by the famous John Szarkowski, former Director of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
