The walk is about 1h30 long and going along the sea on the one side and some of the most impressing villas of the beginning of the XXth century on the other side. The richest tourists came here and built some prestigious homes (including Greta Garbo who loved spending some time here…).
If you want to stay a bit more in this place, you even have a youth hostel (“RJJ Thalassa” of Cap d’Ail, follow this link for more info’s: http://www.clajsud.fr/vacances_cap_d-ail.a2.fr.html) located in one of these beautiful constructions, in front of the sea, and where you can spend a night with breakfast for 17€. It’s really worth of spending a night there and then have a walk in the morning along the coast towards Monaco.
After the “Pointe des douaniers”, you’ll see the first ultra-modern buildings of Monaco-Fontvieille, kind of futuristic construction of the 70’s and the whole place was built on the sea…. So you can almost have 1 century of architectural history resumed in a 1h30 walk!
Take a picnic, a few cameras with films, your bathing clothes and take a walk, sit down on some of the rocks and enjoy the beauty of this place! :))
