New Feature Launched - Photomails

A picture sometimes says more than a thousand words. A picture and a thousand words is even better! Without further ado, I give Lomography's Photomails!

Sometimes leaving a comment isn’t enough. Perhaps you want to say something more private, or share an inside joke. Or it could be that you want your message to be a bit more personalized and not lost down the tubes of your LomoHome. The answer my friends, is our new feature (or new-old for the vets out there), photomails!

Now you can send out e-postcards of your to your friends, foes, loved ones or secret crushes via photomail. All you have to do is:

  • Go to your LomoHome
  • Pick a photo you want to send out
  • Click on the “send as photomail” button
  • Enter the email address of the recipient. Voila!

As an added bonus, all recipients will get a special voucher code. If they register at Lomography using that code, you’ll get Piggies. How awesome is that? Try it out now!

Pushing Boundaries: So I Heard You Like Multiple Exposures

My name is Amber Valentine and I have a confession to make: I’m not really a photographer. I have a website full of photographs, a bookshelf full of cameras, film waiting to be developed, and a wall full of framed pictures I’ve taken. Even so, I don’t really consider myself a photographer per se. I think that Lomography is more about the experimentation and the fun of film than it is about the photography, and that experimentation is part of the reason I have embraced Lomography so.

I am a Mad Analogue Scientist: New Experiments with 35mm Films and Chemicals

Unfortunately, it happens sometimes that your resulting pictures are not what you expected - the image doesn't look that good, the colors are bland, and the subject is banal. Indeed, it couldn't be picture of the year! Herein I propose a second chance for your pictures by modifying your 35mm negatives. Just pick up some ideas from here, experiment, and scan your negatives with the Lomography Smartphone Scanner. Anything is possible: burning, scratching, putting on hydrochloric acid, balsamic vinegar, nail polish, bleach, or raspberry juice... use your imagination and write down your new film soup recipe! You can find a sample of the effects in this article.
