A Cruise with Diana and Her Splitzer

4

Experimenting with a Diana F+, multiple exposures, and a splitzer in a cruise in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea can be very funny! It's never too late to play a little bit with a pink camera. Just relax and came with me to hear the waves (and the people shouting in the background) in this cruise.

Last summer I went to a cruise through the Mediterranean Sea to spend some time with my mother. I think I was the youngest person in the boat, if we ignore the hundreds of children who where permanently in the swimming pool or in the computer room. I felt a little bit old when I was checking my e-mail and a little boy asked me: “Do we disturb you, Madam?”. I thought: “Oh, my God, I am already a Madam, but not any Madam, a Madam who can be disturbed!”.

However, I had my Diana F+ Pink Edition and my splitzer, a fact that made me feel like a child with a new toy and I was playing a lot! Playing is the word, because I was experimenting with my splitzer and multiple exposures so much that I had no idea about what I was going to find in my roll when I have it developed. I wanted to mix the sea with the boat to be able to show the meaning of being in a cruise with no worries.

When we reached Livorno Port, I went to Pisa and of course I was looking forward to make a picture with the Pisa Tower over my head, simulating a hat, but there was no way.

It was a nice experience and I regret to not having brought more film with me.

    My Lomo’Instant Quick Tips

I backed the Kickstarter project for the Lomo’Instant earlier this year and was thrilled to receive it last week. I love how the camera naturally encourages you to experiment with its different features, whether it’s through flashing your multiple exposures with different colors or trying different creative techniques after your shots has been ejected. Here are a few tips from what I’ve discovered from playing with the camera so far (and a couple of tips I want to try out in future)!

    Chemical Manipulations with the Lomo’Instant

Perhaps you’ve already had chance to try light painting, multiple exposures and long exposures with your Lomo’Instant, but what can you experiment with next? Well, that’s exactly the thought I had which led to giving this Tipster a go. I wanted to shoot Lomo’Instant photos which felt a bit “messier” than what I’m usually used to and to use a technique which would open up new possibilities with the kinds of images I could create with my favorite instant camera. Well, here I go!

Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 120: Perfect for Endless Multiple Exposures!

About two years ago or so, I purchased the Lomography Redscale XR 50-200. I saved just one roll of this film and waited for the right moment to shoot with it. In April this year, I just wasn't able to take it anymore! I loaded this film into my Lubitel 166+, which I realized I hadn't used for maybe about six months. One idea came to mind: taking crazy multiple exposures!
