From November 11, 2010 to January 3, 2011, Chester's Castle Square was transformed (for the first time) into a Victorian-style winter wonderland. Complete with a Christmas market, Santa's grotto, ice rink, mulled wine (or cider), and (to top it all off) a big wheel offering stunning views all around. The event is set to return, at the very least, for the next two years.
Fittingly, being the first event of its sort in Chester, the Christmas Village also became home to the first Lomography meet-up in Chester, with fun times had by all.
Aside from the grotto, ice rink, and the rides, there were over 40 stalls selling everything from chestnuts to piggies! Meanwhile, the carousel provided plenty of lomographic opportunities, both from the outside and inside!
The biggest attraction by far though, was the wheel. It was illuminated like a snowflake and visible for miles around. And the views from the top were simply amazing! But what’s even more spectacular was the inside of the Christmas Village.
So there you go, why not visit the next Christmas Village event in Chester?
