Southampton Docks

1

So I have been in Southampton just a few weeks now after moving here for uni. It is really easy to get to from London and other surrounding cities by rail, and there is also an airport here to. Once in the city it is really easy to find your way to the docks on foot.

During my exploring I found the docks, well part of them because the whole place seems to be docklands! So got out my LC-A and knocked of a film. There are really interesting shapes and patterns, people and obviously boats too! The section I went to looked pretty derelict but was fun nevertheless!

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 1

Here’s a random and rather mysterious tale for you folks. Just the other day, I was at a local bar with a few friends. It was much like any other evening; we were sipping a couple of cocktails, recounting our adventures, falling over ourselves with laughter and half-drunkenly meditating on the meaning of life (a scientist once told me it’s 42 by the way). But then something truly strange happened. Read on to hear my story and please make a comment with your guess at the end!

    Solar Eclipses and Beyond

The skies were busy with magic today — or maybe it was just the solar eclipse that caused all that ruckus? Decked out in space-age goggles and other various sun viewing paraphernalia, groups of people gathered as the moon moved between the sun and the earth this morning across Europe. Only a few lucky folks witnessed the total eclipse, and here at Vienna HQ, the greatest moment of the partial eclipse happened at 10:45 A.M. and lasted only a few minutes. We stopped everything we were doing to join the sky watchers crew and share in this astonishing moment. Check out these brilliant solar-inspired shots to celebrate the occasion!

    My Lomo’Instant Quick Tips

I backed the Kickstarter project for the Lomo’Instant earlier this year and was thrilled to receive it last week. I love how the camera naturally encourages you to experiment with its different features, whether it’s through flashing your multiple exposures with different colors or trying different creative techniques after your shots has been ejected. Here are a few tips from what I’ve discovered from playing with the camera so far (and a couple of tips I want to try out in future)!

    Hands-on Experience with the Lomo'Instant

What I got is the Lomo'Instant Black Edition. Its texture and finish is quite simple, and could work as creative space for someone who's into DIY and decorations. In terms of form, it is very handy and acceptable in size. I also love the camera strap that makes it easy to carry.

    Bite-Size Fiction: Spectrophobia

“Mommy, no!” Angela squealed as she tried to push the camera away from her face. Thankfully, Anita managed to take the shot and hold the gadget tightly, keeping it from harm’s way. It was already the third time her daughter reacted in such an averse manner at having her photograph taken, and by now she’s gotten really curious.
