Sipping a daiquiri on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii? Why not sip that daiquiri on a boat? There's no guest list required, just stroll over and introduce yourself to the captain. Those two large catamarans leave on a regular schedule for scenic cruises. Hop aboard and give it a try!
If you’re a tourist in Hawaii, chances are you’ll end up on Waikiki Beach at some point. :)
But I’m not sure I would have stumbled across this particular adventure had I not been talking to a guest at my friend’s wedding on a recent trip. This guest told me that she works in Honolulu and once a week, joins her co-workers on a catamaran cruise at Waikiki Beach for happy hour. My interest was undoubtedly piqued.
I had seen these boats when I was on the beach before, but I didn’t really know what they were about. There were no signs and I didn’t find them advertised at any hotels or on any websites. (I even checked online after she told me, but found next to nothing.) It turns out, all they really need is word of mouth.
For the small price of $25 US Dollars, these catamarans (which hold up to 40 people) will take you on a peaceful 1 and a half hour cruise on the clear, blue waters around Waikiki and provide all the alcoholic (or non-alcoholic) beverages you desire!
The boats leave approximately every 2 hours throughout the day, all you have to do is walk up to them on the beach and jump aboard or reserve a spot on a later cruise, if you wish. (Tip: If you want to take a sunset cruise, you should reserve it earlier. Apparently, that’s the most popular time to sail.)
Don’t miss out on a fabulous boat ride and fabulous picture-taking opportunities. I would have done it more than once if I had learned about it earlier in my trip!
