Experimenting with films is fun – So for this rumble we want you to do something completely crazy with your film and write a tipster about it. Smear the roll with butter, leave it soaking in tomato ketchup…do whatever, but do it different! You never know, maybe your mad-scientist plan will start a whole new style of analogue photography!

All you’ve got to do is:
1. Write a Tipster about your crazy film experiment and include the sample pictures.
2. Submit it
3. Then post: “I’m a Mad Sceintist” in the comments below

Please remember, for this rumble, only post “I’m a Mad Sceintist” in the comments section AFTER you have submitted your Tipster!

The Prizes

  • The most popular film Tipster submitted between now and the rumble end date will win 20 Piggy Points
  • The 2nd and 3rd most popular Tipsters submitted will win 5 Piggies each.

Also, remember that you’ll get 5 Piggies for every Tipster we publish!

The rumble ends April 8th, 2011 and that’s no joke!

my tip is to take a very very expired film to a very very sunny bright country, shot it and hope for the best! I submitted 10 shots of that kind, but I am too lazy to write a tipster at the moment:)

@panelomo Thanks mate : ) ! @tomas_bates I have something that would fit nicely here, but it's a film review... May I submit it ?

  21. tomas_bates
    tomas_bates ·

@Stouf - Could you adapt it from being a review to being a Tipster? If you can show how this film you talk about can help you create cool photos then yes please submit it as a Tipster and post 'I'm a mad scientist' here! But it's got to be submitted as a Tipster I'm afraid - Hope that's OK :-)

Alright, no worries, I already submitted it as a review... Anyway LSI has already spoiled me enough with rewards : )...

    Chemical Manipulations with the Lomo’Instant

Perhaps you’ve already had chance to try light painting, multiple exposures and long exposures with your Lomo’Instant, but what can you experiment with next? Well, that’s exactly the thought I had which led to giving this Tipster a go. I wanted to shoot Lomo’Instant photos which felt a bit “messier” than what I’m usually used to and to use a technique which would open up new possibilities with the kinds of images I could create with my favorite instant camera. Well, here I go!

My First Roll of Lomochrome Purple 400

I placed a pre-order for this film maybe 6 or 7 months ago. I'll let you guess how ecxited I was when I received the package last week. I was like a kid in a candy store so I decided to spend the next Sunday in a park I have never been before. The Park Monceau in Paris. The weather was perfect for a first try with this purple gem!

In the last decade she has spent in the USA, Maliha has stayed at six different cities in five different states. Currently, Maliha is based in Denver, Colorado, and "Transient Living," a new series in the Lomography magazine, documents her experiences and the ways that she has come to call this city her home.</i>

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!
