"Garden of the Serenissima" (Sacile City)

Near the borders with the region Veneto, Sacile is considered the western door of Friuli Venezia Giulia. All through its center quietly flows the Livenza river, giving it a typical Venetian style. That's why Sacile was called the "Garden of the Serenissima".

Elegant buildings and ancient ruins are evidence of its rich vocation during the Middle ages and the Renaissance. In fact all the houses which face the main square are aged after 1419, year of the beginning of the Venetian domination. And just few weeks ago a manhole which dates back to the ’500s was discovered right on the main square.

People here use to meet each other, drinking a good coffee or an aperitif and tasting some appetizers in one of the several bars under the portico’s of the city or in a sweet garden around. And once a week people can appreciate the open-air market which spreads all along the streets. Event which doesn’t have to be missed! The country side is very green too. A lot of parks, fields of wheat and corn cover the area outside Sacile.

A good place to be visited for a couple of days, having relax and fun!
