A Hole in the Wall Called Nomnomnom

5

We all have favorite places to meet up and hang out in. Mine is a little restaurant that dishes out yummy, happy food — with big servings to boot! Nothing beats good times with friends, delicious food, and taking photos with my lomo camera. Here's to another fun night and a lot of Nomnomnom-in'.

What in the world is “Nomnomnom,” you ask? Is it the sound that you make when you’re chomping on gloriously yummy food while attempting to say “Mmmm” at the same time? Or is it this semi-hidden but accessible little restaurant that serves meals that delight the tongue, tummy, and the soul? The answer is yes and yes!

Nicknamed ‘Nom by frequent customers, it’s a great place for friends to meet up and enjoy relaxed conversations, while sitting back and feasting on yummy treats like the Happy Hemp Pasta, Very Succulent Tomatoes (my fave! They’re stuffed with mozzarella and basil) or Fried Ravioli with Tomato Salsa. Wash it all down with soda, beer or a cocktail. A sweet way to cap off your meal is with some Macarons or a bit of Boom Chika Wawa – that’s an ice cream sandwich by the way.

While most dishes are meatless, there are food options for our carnivorous buddies too. Remember, they serve Happy Food—imaginative, fun-to-eat cuisine that will make your tummies smile, and won’t hurt your wallet, AKA your precious film fund.

Get your comforting, happy food fix here!

The interior has that right mix of shabby chic and laid-back whimsy. You’ll notice that the decorations is a tribute to our wonderful feathered friends. Certain portions of the wall also have delightful drawings, an inspiring slogan, and interesting clusters of photographs in frames or cleverly hung on strings. Aren’t these great ideas on how to display your own precious lomographs?

Enjoy the warm, shabby chic interiors. It gives a great vibe for a Lomo meet-up!

At ‘Nom, it’s not a concern if you’re wearing the right necktie or using the correct cutlery because the vibe is very casual, not to mention, jeans-&-T-shirt-friendly. It’s a great place to have Lomo meet-ups too! Occasionally, themed parties are held here coupled with film viewings, great music from rock bands who are also fans of the food, as well as funny costume parties (’80s Prom Night anyone?).

Here’s a favorite happy thought written on ’Nom’s wall.

They said ‘don’t bite off more than you can chew’, but at Nomnomnom, leave your cares at the door and you can have as many bites, chomps, and chews as you choose!

    Bite-Size Fiction: Spectre

Ever since she started working late hours Tammy had inevitably acquired the habit of staying up into the wee hours of the night, doing nothing but catch up on her favorite websites, eat, and watch television. When nothing good’s on TV or in the Internet, however, she liked to hang out at her room’s balcony, sneakily smoking a cigarette or two while musing about all sorts of things.

My Day in Analogue: Lazy Summer Days at Home

Every summer, my soul screams for a lazy, hot day back at my parents' home, for some good food, relaxation, and catching up with childhood friends. This year is no different, so I went back down to my small hometown in the very northeast of Belgium to enjoy a perfect laid back day doing nothing and everything. And of course, I brought my analogue cameras along to eternalize all of these small but grand moments in life.

Kick-Off Country: Kicking Off the World Cup Blues in Paris

Les Bleus may have been booted out of the World Cup by Germany, but for me France is always a winner. The number of places to go around Paris, especially, can never be exhausted: the Eiffel Tower, Sacré Cœur, the Seine, the Arc de Triomphe, and this time, I fell in love with the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise.

LomoAmigos: The Ting Tings Go Analogue!

The Ting Tings are a musical duo from Manchester who have more pop hits than you can shake a stick at. They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.
