For our Rip Curl Competition: Stage I – Whole Lotta Love contest, we asked our shooters to think of one thing and one thing only - Surfing is love and so is Lomography! Our friends over at Ripcurl sent over their votes and we're here to announce the winners!
You can never go wrong with the beach. The sheer fact that the 1st stage of our Ripcurl Competition received over 2000 submissions will attest to that fact. Whether you prefer to chill out alone and watch the day go by, or prefer to play Frisbee with your friends, the sun, surf and sand is truly one of a Lomographer’s most visited destinations.
For the First Stage of our competition – Whole Lotta Love!, Ripcurl has picked these 36 photos. Congratulations! But don’t get to complacent just yet. There are two other competitions that stand between you and a trip to the RipCurl Pro Bells Beach in April 2011. Check out the competition site for more info. But for now, the winners!
If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!
For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
Diana F+ is something of a wild child. It loves outré looks, multiple exposures and outlandish colors. But loaded with the right 120 film, it can show a mellow side that favors rule-of-thirds perfection and subdued coloring.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
My friends and I teamed up with Photo Art Pro to spread analog love to the Zaporozhye community. Last month, we hosted a Yeti Scavenger Hunt and had a LomoKino camera as prize. We challenged participants to shoot a roll of film based on a checklist. It was tremendous fun!
In 1968, Elliott Landy went around town to photograph the glamor set, including the likes of Faye Dunaway, Marlene Dietrich and Lauren Bacall. His black and white shots are now part of a limited-edition book.
