Chrisdafox has more LomoPeople to introduce to us through portraits! For this week, we're going to meet Trisha, one of his closest friends and favorite subjects. Check out the story behind his intimate portrait right after the jump.
Trisha and some friends went along to a trip down south of Manila to try out scuba diving for the first time! But I obviously couldn’t take down any of my cameras, so most of the shooting was made during our free time. I don’t know why, but this girl is one of the most difficult people to shoot. Though, I think she has very beautiful features, her will to piss me off and be uncooperative while pretending to want to have her picture taken is really what makes her a challenge.
But like a few times before, i was lucky:
When she was off guard, and the light was just right, I click, and shoot.
The wind in your hair isn’t going to hide your pretty face.
What's good with photography is that it can make you feel emotions of all sorts. And if that is truly the case, then it's the sudden surge of youthful energy we're feeling right now while looking at Dennis Auburn's photographs. Check out more of his electrifying work and words after the jump.
“The perfect portrait is somewhat like the Holy Grail,” notes Jonas in our interview, and his selection of Petzval portraits leaves one almost breathless, close to perfection. It helps to have beautiful subjects, but it’s amazing how the doctor and talented photographer has seem to have mastered the Petzval Lens' bokeh capabilities. Meet Jonas Hafner, the creator of the blog “Aufzehengehen.”
In celebration of the Lomo LC-A's 30th birthday, we're launching a series of parties and events in Lomography Stores worldwide! You and your friends are invited to join in on the fun. Check all the details after the jump!

Just how many Lego bricks did it take to create a replica of the setting for the latest Wes Anderson film? About a whopping 50,000, apparently. Check out the final Lego model and the story behind this awesome feat after the jump!
As one of our most seasoned community members, herbert-4's collection of photos spans over decades of experience in film photography. Many of his albums contain images that we could only dream of capturing, from a time and generation that not many of us had the chance to be part of. Not surprisingly, each photo is entitled to its own story, and herbert-4 shares the story behind this one after the jump.
"Grandpa's Photos" is exactly what it says on the title - vintage photographs taken by an Australian man named Stephen Clarke who frequently went on trips around the world. But make no mistake in concluding that it's simply a showcase; Clarke's grandson, Dave Tomkins, has also taken it upon himself to honor his late grandfather as a talented photographer. In this interview, Tomkins introduces him to us and shares the idea behind his personal project.
He is a graphic designer from Kassel, Germany who has been a Community member for about a decade. His ten-year stay has been remarkably fruitful. Aside from honing his photography skills, it is in this Community of ours where he met his girlfriend, made a lot of friends, and helped organize a huge weekend meet-up for fellow lomographers. Say hello to Daniel Lauterbach, also known as trash-gordon-from-outer-space, our LomoGuru of the Week!
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Shortly after we shared the beautiful lomography-themed book (and posters) of Irina Shepel, we got in touch with her to tell us more about her work, and how our community and analogue love became her inspiration. Check out the insightful interview after the jump!
It's Film Photography Day on April 12, and at the Lomography Stores in Amsterdam and Antwerp you can participate in exciting activities with us - a Diana F+ workshop, the opportunity to borrow a Lomography camera for the whole day, and so much more! Check out all the details after the jump!
