Chrisdafox has more LomoPeople to introduce to us through portraits! For this week, we're going to meet Trisha, one of his closest friends and favorite subjects. Check out the story behind his intimate portrait right after the jump.
Trisha and some friends went along to a trip down south of Manila to try out scuba diving for the first time! But I obviously couldn’t take down any of my cameras, so most of the shooting was made during our free time. I don’t know why, but this girl is one of the most difficult people to shoot. Though, I think she has very beautiful features, her will to piss me off and be uncooperative while pretending to want to have her picture taken is really what makes her a challenge.
But like a few times before, i was lucky:
When she was off guard, and the light was just right, I click, and shoot.
The wind in your hair isn’t going to hide your pretty face.
“The perfect portrait is somewhat like the Holy Grail,” notes Jonas in our interview, and his selection of Petzval portraits leaves one almost breathless, close to perfection. It helps to have beautiful subjects, but it’s amazing how the doctor and talented photographer has seem to have mastered the Petzval Lens' bokeh capabilities. Meet Jonas Hafner, the creator of the blog “Aufzehengehen.”
For the last three weeks, Herr Willie has regaled us with fascinating tales of his Russian adventure. Today, he shares with us yet another great story from one of his travels: meeting the beautiful and influential Ishita Malaviya, the first female surfer of India.
So Spring has officially sprung! Say hello to brighter and longer days. The dark (and freezing) ones are finally behind and in order to celebrate that a new motto takes place in our lives: The more color the better! Colorsplashing totally changes our mood and the endless possibilities of compositions have never been so fun! Click through to dive into this vibrant and surreal pool after the jump.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
He is a graphic designer from Kassel, Germany who has been a Community member for about a decade. His ten-year stay has been remarkably fruitful. Aside from honing his photography skills, it is in this Community of ours where he met his girlfriend, made a lot of friends, and helped organize a huge weekend meet-up for fellow lomographers. Say hello to Daniel Lauterbach, also known as trash-gordon-from-outer-space, our LomoGuru of the Week!
Say hello to Duffman, a 20-year-old photographer based in Frankfurt, Germany. He started taking film photos when he received a Diana F+ camera for his 16th birthday. Now he uses the Petzval Lens for capturing really impressive portraits. Get to know more about him after the jump!
Last year I took part in Photographia, a project that encouraged the use of cameras from the volt of Museu da Imagem em Movimento (M|i|mo). The gear collection used to belong to a well-known Portuguese TV channel (RTP) and some professional photographers. The cameras hadn’t been used since they were donated to the museum—until the launch of Photographia.
