The city of the seven hills, here in Lisbon you´re more often than not going up or down one of them. But the hills give us more than strong legs, the ´miradouros´ (places to sit back and enjoy the view) are everywhere and are the perfect spot to admire the charming town at any time of the day, or night!
I’m not from Lisbon. Actually I´m not even from Portugal, but Lisbon is the place I´ve chosen to live. My choice was based on lots of reasons but what played an undeniable role was the irrestible charm and light of this city.
Because it spreads among many hills walking around can easily become some sort of hicking or climbing even, but it also creates many spaces from which you have incredible views. These places are called ´Miradouros´ and are – in my opinion – the best Lisbon has to offer.
To watch the sun going down or the sunrise (after a night of pub crawling in bairro alto) is an experience that cannot be missed.
They say Lisbon has a special kind of light, a particular brightness, and that gives us the perfect excuse to go around Lomo in hand registering.
And another excuse (as if we needed any…) is the amazing Lomographic Embassy that exists in Lisbon. A store with all we need to capture all the angles and possibilities of the city. Definetly worth a visit if you´re a Lomo fan. It is on Rua da Assunção, in the area called Baixa and to get there you don´t have to go up any hills!
