Concierge Recommends: Macau

6

In each hotel there will always be a trusty concierge that knows about almost everything there is to know about the country. Since this is my profession, here's my take on things to do in Macau. Listen up as I give you the full scoop!

Macau is rich in culture. The Chinese were among the first settlers then it was colonized by Portuguese in the early century. Most of the tourist attractions are temples, churches and buildings. Macau has 3 cities, Macau, Taipa and Coloane.

A must see place in Macau will be the “Senado Square” because it has everything. From shopping stores, restaurants, museums, churches, temples and souvenir shops.

The main landmark of this place is the Ruins of St. Paul. Where the facade of this church was the only thing remaining after it was destroyed by a fire.

If you’re an adventurous type, you should try to go bungee jumping at Macau Tower. It is the highest in the world with the height of 233 meters.

If you wanna go eating, there are a lot of restaurants you can choose from. From Chinese, Cantonese and Portuguese. But my favorite foods are dimsum from a 24hours Chinese restaurant and egg tarts from Lord Stow’s Bakery.

Macau is also popular because of it’s casinos. There are a lot of Vegas Casinos and Hotels around. Such as Venetian, MGM and Wynn just to name a few. But you can also check the City of Dreams where there are 3 world known hotels combine in one complex; Hardrock,Crown and Hyatt.

A world of difference, the difference is Macau!

Transient Living: Armitage & McMillan in Denver, Colorado

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!

A Look at Photographs on Auction at Lempertz

Two days from now, Lempertz will hold a sale of 195 photographic prints. The lineup is as varied as the history of photography itself. An 1856 print by an anonymous photographer is in the same group as a top-valued Joseph Szabo shot. A deceptively simple shot of a flower vase is joined by the complex textures of Lucien Hervé. Take a look at the fascinating mix.
