The Petronas Twin Towers situated at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre is not only the home to the local oil company - Petronas headquarter, but they are also rented to many multinational companies. At the base of the towers, there is a high-end shopping mall; whereas the surroundings of the towers are a beautifully landscaped park.
Petronas Twin Towers was once the tallest skyscraper in the world before the Taipei 101 was built. Now, they remain as the tallest twin buildings in the world. They are located at the Golden Triangle area in Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by many other skyscrapers and shopping malls.
The Petronas Twin Towers had their official opening held on 31 August 1999. They were designed by Argentinean architect Cesar Pelli; at a height of 451.9 meters, they are each connected to one another by a 58.4 meters long two-story skybridge. Other than being the headquarters of Petronas oil company, Petronas Twin Towers are also rented by many multinational companies.
The KLCC park is a place where many photographers and tourists love to go, especially during night time, when the Twin Towers are lighted in each and every floor, and the fountain in the park is incorporated with light show. The interior of the shopping mall is also a good spot for photography. Personally I prefer the book stores at the lowest and top floors. If you’re running out of films, you could even get your Lomography films and cameras in one of the shops there!
