WINNERS ANNOUNCED!!!

The Diana World Tour is coming back stateside on a stop at the Lomography Gallery Store LA!!! We Want You (enthusiastic finger pointing) to submit your best and most favorite Diana F+ Lomographs to be part of our Vignettes exhibition which will be up during the months of October and November!

Rigidly defined, a vignette is a “short, impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment in time or gives a particular insight into a character, idea, or setting”. With merely a few words and a few specific details, it gives one a penetrating view into the life and motivations of your subject.

What we need from you!
Submit no more than 5 of your favorite Lomographs captured with the plastic lens of the Diana F+ inspired by the city of Angels… be it your favorite people, places, and things; or an image that represents how Los Angeles makes you feel and the way of life it promotes. Whether it’s with multiple exposures of your friends at the Cha Cha, soft vignettes at the Farmer’s Market with the hazy smog-ridden sky, or pinholes of the coastline complete with surf and sand, we want to show the world Los Angeles through a plastic lens.

What you get!
We will choose the very best images to display on the walls of the Lomography Gallery Store LA during the Diana World Tour! Hoards of people will come through the shop to see the traveling Dietrich Collection of vintage Diana F+ clones and your analogue masterpieces starting with our Opening Party on Thursday, October 14. Winners will also get 20 piggy points to be used online or in the store, and will walk away with their large custom print at the end of the exhibition!

How to submit?
Upload no more than 5 of your favorite Lomographs to this post. You may also send us your images in a zipped file via YouSendIt.com addressed to shopla@lomography.com. Please put “LA VIGNETTES” as the subject line, and label all files and the zip with your name, and LomoHome username if you have one. Please size all images to 3,000 × 3,000 pixels, 300 dpi, JPEG 10. Your file size should be no bigger than 3 MB. If you do not have a scan of this size, you may send us your negative and we will scan it for you. If you do not have a scan large enough, or your negative, we unfortunately cannot accept your image for the exhibition.

If you want to barrow a Diana F+ to shoot for this contest, come on by and ask nicely. Compliments on hair or dress will help. We will probably say yes.

DEADLINE
The competition ends Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Winners will be announced by Wednesday, August 25, 2010.

The European Dream - Selfies from Oranienplatz: Exhibition in Berlin

In more ways than one, Lomography is an art form as much as it is an effective tool to communicate. This is proven in the politically-driven exhibition “Selfies from Oranienplatz," of which the opening event will be taking place on the 16th of October as part of the European Month of Photography in Berlin.
