Walk around Hong Kong

It's my first trip ever to Hong Kong! It was supposed to be sunny, hotter than Singapore I heard. But it was pouring throughout my 5 days stay. What's more, Cyclone No.8 was hoisted on the first day! All the shops were closed in the middle of the day and we were advised to stay indoors! It was really an experience of a lifetime. No sightseeing as the weather was a spoilsport. Nonetheless, I still managed to capture some pictures of the busy city amidst the rain for the next few days.

Travelling around HK is really a breeze. The MTR takes you practically everywhere! I really love the different coloured tiles that dressed up every train station. If you have time and prefer to sightsee as you travel, take the tram ride for only HK$2! Alternatively, you can join the locals on the forever packed buses. Eat, shop, eat, shop! That was basically what I did there. Hong Kong Cafes and Noodles Places that serve pretty decent and affordable food are easily located. To pamper your tastebuds and indulge in a finer meal, check out this famous place that serves really good roasts-Roasted Goose, Crispy Roasted Pigeon, etc. Award-winning chef has also won the widely recognized Iron Chef Award! Also not to-be-missed are the famous and healthy fruit-based desserts at Xu Liu Shan! It’s certainly a good refreshment to refuel your jets after endless shopping.

Digital photographic products are generally cheaper by 10-20% in Hong Kong compared to Singapore. However, be careful of purchasing grey sets. Wing Shing Photo is a highly recommended and reliable retailer. Pop by the less commercialized Apliu Street flea market and you can find vintage cameras, second-hand electronics and handphone shops that sell interesting China and Korean-made handphones! Want to have your fortune told? Head down to Temple Street in the wee hours! But be aware that Temple Street is also known as the Men’s Street where prostitution is a common form of activity. Who cares about Disneyland? There are many other attractions for Hong Kong is a city that never sleeps (except on that particular day)!

This year, I stayed at a beautiful one in the south of Italy. Here is a series of photos which I received a few days ago from the excellent LomoLab service, taken with my Sprocket Rocket. The Magic Yet To Come: Part 3

“Let me tell you about my life turning blue”. Those were the first words the guy on the bench said as he sat down beside me whilst I was eating my lunch. Usually, I prefer to eat alone but there was something about this opening sentence which really intrigued me; so I told him “Sure buddy, go ahead. Tell me about your life in blue”.

I’d only heard rumors of the Magic Tree. I had no idea if they were true and, honestly, I’m still half disbelieving of it despite the story I’m about to tell you. Experiencing the Rainforest Adventure Experience

When I was a kid, one of my greatest joys was to go to the park. I especially loved playgrounds. It didn't matter how may other children there were, as long as I could have my turn to go on the slide and and sit on the swing. These days, enjoying one's childhood has become so different. Technology has stolen the interest of children in more physically demanding yet fun activities.

I was given a roll of LomoChrome Purple 120 by a friend who was keen for me to try it out since he didn't have a medium format camera. I really didn't expect the results I got when I took it out for a test run on a bright winter's day in London.

I'm Nick Page, a graphic designer based in the UK. After 20 years of working in advertising, I returned to film photography five years ago and found that the analogue life was just what I needed to get away from the "pixel perfect" images I deal with every day in my job.
