Galerija Tornis

I and my friends found this horse accidentally. We were visiting the old town streets of Riga when suddenly we saw a wooden horse. It belongs to Galerija Tonris shop owners and they don't mind if you want to ride on the back of the horse. Inside the shop you can find and buy ancient Baltic and Scandinavian jewelry reproductions and original designs, amber (Baltic States gold), textile, hand-crafted metal-work, pottery, kitchen utensils made of juniper and CDs of Latvian music.

I prefer Lithuanian music, but Latvian is kind of interesting too. If you would like to buy a CD of Latvian music, I would offer you to buy any CD of “Rigas Saksofonu Kvartets” (Riga’s Saxophone Quartet). By the way, inside the shop you can get information about the meaning and wearing of this ancient-jewelry, so if you are wearing your grandmother’s jewelry you should visit this place to know if it is ancient and how and by whom was it made. As the shop works from 11 am to 6 pm, you should come here between working hours. We didn’t know that we will find a horse, so we forgot to take some carrots, but if you are going to Riga don’t forget to feed the horse and only then ride on him.
