Tipster of the Week: Cry Your Way to Fame

17

This tipster is meant for those kids below the age of 10 but anyone can try it at home. Results may vary.

1. Get daddy to load an instant camera and tell him that you want some portraits done.
2. Start posing and acting all cool.
3. Start asking daddy how to use the camera and find out where the shutter button is.
4. Begin by requesting politely … saying that you want to be the one taking the photos instead.
5. Start crying loudy and kick up a fuss if daddy doesn’t allow you to do that. Skip this step if daddy says ‘ok’.
6. Get daddy to make monkey faces and pose for you. Show him some examples if he is too dumb or proud to do so
7. Go drag mommy into the party. She may be reluctant to be the clown for you … but you can apply step 5 if necessary.
8. Ask daddy for another pack of film and if he runs out of it … repeat step 5.

Have fun! Have lots of fun!

What camera did you use for this? These shots are awesome, I love the four frames on an instant photo. Also, I assume this is that black and white Fuji FP film.

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 5

Last week, I received the strangest thing through my letterbox. It was a postcard with this photograph on 1 side. The photo is of me sitting by the sea whilst I was on vacation last year. But I have literally no idea who took this shot – That’s why I came here, to ask for your help on my search for my mysterious photographer and to try and get to bottom of the riddle they wrote me. My list of resolutions for 2015 consists of 12 projects, one for every month. March was for caffenol. Somehow, there's always something going wrong. Time to devote a few rolls to caffenol to finally get the hang of it.

Film Experiments: In The Dark - The True Analogue Experiment

Throwing chemicals, fire, and scratching emulsion are just a few ways of experimenting with film. But there's another process that completely destroys it (or, if you're lucky, creates something amazing), that is as spastic as a drunken man staggering his way home after a night at the pub - literally. And it all comes down to darkness.
