St. Paul's Hill (A'Famosa), Malacca Malaysia

3

Malacca, was recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage city. It is one of the must visit city in Malaysia.

This visit, we all went up all the way to the St. Paul Hill, besides only visiting the famous Jonker Walk.

The St. Paul sits on the hill just behind the A’Famosa Fotress.

Well, let’s have a brief history of the place. Built at 1571 by the Portuguese and regularly visited by St Francis Xavier from China. His statue also standing still in the front of these ruins. On top of St. Paul’s Hill is the St. Paul’s Church, once the prayer house of the Portuguese Catholics, then turned into burial ground for their noble dead by the Dutch. The tombstones have Latin and Portuguese inscriptions on them. St. Francis Xavier was buried here in 1553 before his body was moved to Goa in India. The place now was still famous of its ruins and the breathtaking view of the Malacca town. It still crowded with thousands of visitors from all over the world every week.

While the fortress, called A’Famosa suffered severe destruction during the Dutch invasion. What’s left today is just the entrance walls, still well preserved till today. And it’s now being as the trademark of this heritage city.

Transient Living: Armitage & McMillan in Denver, Colorado

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!

The World According to Herr Willie: The Amazon

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.

It's late October in Copenhagen and summer was well and truly behind us. With the nights drawing in, the chances of going out with one of my cameras was slim. All was not lost at this time of year, however, as it allowed me time to focus on my own personal music projects—I am a professional composer/musician and audio engineer at my own studio by day.
