Viewing the World of the Canon EOS 88

1

The Canon EOS 88, also known as EOS 3000, is an analogue 35 mm SLR camera introduced in 1999. This is a camera that you would want to pick up. The reasons are described below.

The Canon EOS 88 is no stranger to the Lomography community after the first review was published by walasiteodito in 2012. This in-depth review will provide the features of EOS 88 used with the Lomochrome Purple XR 100-400 (35 mm).

Multiple Exposure

I will describe this camera's multiple exposure features as it is my favorite. Activated by pressing the <> and buttons simultaneously, you can adjust the number of exposures you want. With a maximum of nine exposures, the creativity is yours to flaunt. After taking your first exposure, you can adjust the settings any way you want (i.e., aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) for your subsequent exposures.

Adjustable ISO

Another awesome feature of the EOS 88 is that you can adjust the ISO between 6 and 6400. This feature is great if you are testing the limits of your film. This flexibility allowed me to adjust the ISO to suit that of the LomoChrome Purple under different lighting conditions.

Canon EF lens mount

The EOS 88 has an EF lens mount. This means that the EF lenses you bought for your Canon DSLR can be used for EOS 88. This also means that the autofocus of your EF lenses works on the EOS 88. How cool is that!

Similar Settings As Most Canon DSLRs

The heading says it all (see photos for clarity). This camera works like a DSLR except that it is film operated.

So there you have it! The EOS 88 is a camera that offers many functions. As such, it is a versatile yet inexpensive camera to own. The number of stunning photos that you can create with the EOS 88 is infinite. Grab one and shoot!
