To commemorate World Cat Day, which falls today, August 8, we've rounded up some of the most popular photos of our feline friends taken by our fellow community members!
It was reportedly back in 2002 when *World Cat Day* was established by various animal groups led by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. We have to say, though, that it’s been a long time coming since cats have been companions to humans for thousands of years! Today we’ve come up with this little tribute for our furry loyal pets, Lomography-style. Have a look at these adorable snapshots taken using the different Lomo cameras!
Think we missed a few of your favorites? Feel free to get the ball rolling by adding to the list through the comments section below!

This week's LomoGuru is perhaps one of the most active members of our Community. Aside from regularly updating his LomoHome with wonderful photographs, he also sets aside time to meet and share insights with his fellow lomographers by attending various lomowalks and lomo-exhibitions. Let's cheer for our latest LomoGuru from Germany, Christoph Maas, also known in the Community as mapix!
He is a graphic designer from Kassel, Germany who has been a Community member for about a decade. His ten-year stay has been remarkably fruitful. Aside from honing his photography skills, it is in this Community of ours where he met his girlfriend, made a lot of friends, and helped organize a huge weekend meet-up for fellow lomographers. Say hello to Daniel Lauterbach, also known as trash-gordon-from-outer-space, our LomoGuru of the Week!
We often use black and white film when shooting dramatic portraits, sweeping landscapes, and even in street photography. But did you know that it's just as effective in taking creative doubles, too? Take a look at this selection of lovely lomographs taken by some members of our community!
