With all the sporting events culminating this month, we cannot help but be overwhelmed by the blow-by-blow game updates that flood our social media websites. Of course, we wouldn’t want the Community to miss this grandiose displays of team spirit so for this edition of The LomoKino Director's Showreel, we want everyone to show their competitive and athletic side by sending us sports-themed flicks!
Swimming, surfing, football, basketball, gymnastics – all kinds of sports are accepted! Warm up and practice games are also in. Display your support for your favorite players or team by waving their flags or shaking those cheering pompoms. Better yet, get your LomoKino and film every second of their action-filled and momentous game. Don’t get lost in your excitement because the best sports-themed LomoKino film will get 30 piggies!
One grand prize winner will receive 30 piggies while two runners-up will receive 15 Piggies each.

This article is a tribute to the great Portuguese film director Manoel de Oliveira, who died last April 2. With an old Praktica loaded with a roll of black and white film, I captured so enthusiastically his city Oporto (Porto) with its famous Ribeira district, the most characteristic of the Lusitanian town. It was here that more than 70 years ago, Manoel De Oliveira created a timeless masterpiece: "Aniki-Bòbò"!
