Mary Ciesynski and her film photography club travel all over Arizona to host workshops, photo walks, and meet-ups. The latest photo walk was held at the historic Old Town Scottsdale Arizona in June. Mary will be traveling the US to host workshops and meet-ups throughout 2014.
Our film photography club in Arizona started in April 2013 and has grown steadily since. We have a core group of about 10 members who come to photo events and shoots. Old Town Scottsdale is a popular tourist attraction, but we tried to look for the nooks and crannies of interesting things away from the tourist shops and restaurants for our walk. Our goal was to find beauty and curious treasures where others may not think to look.
Old Town Scottsdale has a lot of Western and cowboy-themed architecture and signage. One of the more interesting sections we walked through had old signs, antique machinery, and broken down carts. Some of the antique shops in the area were closed and many had interesting curios outside or behind the windows.
I think everyone in the photo club took a picture of this creepy clown. It was too weird to pass up!
We try to do photo events of some kind at least once a month, or every other month. If you’d like to keep up with our adventures and travels, feel free to follow us on Facebook at Film Photography Revolution or on Twitter @FilmPhotoRev.
