10 Coolest Places To Visit ... Underwater!

Where are you headed to this summer? Where I'm from summer has ended too soon, so I'm still daydreaming of sand and seafoam. I decided to check out the archives for some cool beach-y snapshots and came across a lot of interesting underwater photos! Check out my finds after the jump; hopefully this list will inspire you to grab a Fisheye Sub or a Krab, along with your Fisheye cameras and LC-A+, for some underwater adventure.

Photo by: Daniel Gebhart de Koekkoek

1. Maldives

Take a cue from photographer Daniel Gebhart de Koekkoek and his wife, who spent their honeymoon in this gorgeous island – armed with the Lomo LC-A+ housed in a Krab. You can check out the gallery here!

2. Playa de los Muertos, Spain

Jennson was smitten with this beach, which is located in Spain. It is known as one of the best naturist beaches, boasting breathtaking cliffs and secret coves. “This beach is paradise, the water is so clear!” You probably want to see more photos, so head over to his Krab Adventures album!

3. Semporna, Malaysia

Try an online search for ‘Semporna’ and it’ll take you to a list of scuba diving results. We’re lucky that Jetnz81 took a dive and captured some really awesome scenes underwater!

4. Kona, Hawaii

Fancy swimming along with the dolphins? Natalieerachel did just that. Kona’s crystal waters are perfect for snorkeling and diving, and if you’re lucky you’ll spot some Hawaiian green sea turtles, too!

Have you been to Kona? Upload your snaps and help expand this photo collection!

5. Balicasag Island, Bohol, Philippines

Besides diving and snorkeling, this island is also perfect for dolphin-watching (you’ll have to wake up very early in the morning to enjoy this, though).

Did you know: Bohol is also home to the famous Chocolate Hills. See some photos here.

6. Sharks Cove, Haleiwa, Hawaii

Another prime pick for snorkeling and diving. Lomo_the_nations took advantage of the Lomo LC-A and Krab and captured his sea-soaked adventure!

7. Coral Garden, Taha’a, French Polynesia

This is Vicuna ‘s version of paradise. I’m at loss for words; see the rest of the astounding views in his album.

8. Protaras, Cyprus

Emilios surely enjoyed splashing around with the LC-Wide + Krab combo. Who wouldn’t it be, in a place like this?! Protaras boasts sparkling blue waters and sandy beaches and has become a popular tourist resort.

Check out how much fun he had in his Krabbing album.

9. Mahahual, Mexico

Tracyvmoore took the plunge with his Fisheye One (encased in a Fisheye Sub) to capture these crystal-clear views under the sea!

10. Alexander Springs, Florida

After a bit of Googling I discovered that Alexander Springs is “home to a variety of wildlife including otters, alligators, and turtles.” I wouldn’t have known about this place until I stumbled upon this album by Myloveletter.

I’m very sure you can add more to this list! Make the most out of your sunny escapades and don’t forget to bring Lomography’s summer essentials: the Lomo LC-A+ and Lomo LC-Wide with the Krab Underwater Housing , or the Fisheye One and Fisheye No.2 in a Fisheye Submarine Case. I can’t wait to see your photos

Have fun!

    Solar Eclipses and Beyond

The skies were busy with magic today — or maybe it was just the solar eclipse that caused all that ruckus? Decked out in space-age goggles and other various sun viewing paraphernalia, groups of people gathered as the moon moved between the sun and the earth this morning across Europe. Only a few lucky folks witnessed the total eclipse, and here at Vienna HQ, the greatest moment of the partial eclipse happened at 10:45 A.M. and lasted only a few minutes. We stopped everything we were doing to join the sky watchers crew and share in this astonishing moment. Check out these brilliant solar-inspired shots to celebrate the occasion!
