The Lomo-A-to-Z tells us, in alphabetical order, how to make the most out of our beloved LC-A cameras. The first letter, of course, is the letter ‘A’ which stands for ‘Aim Below the Waist.’

If you haven’t seen the video for the Lomo LC-A-to-Z, you are definitely missing out! So please, go back to this post and enjoy!

The first letter, ‘A,’ in the Lomo LC-Alphabet, stands for ‘Aim Below the Waist.” It is synonymous to the Rule#4 from the The 10 Golden Rules which is Shoot from the Hip.

You don’t always need a viewfinder, and you don’t always have to shoot at eye level especially when you’re toting a camera as wonderful as the Lomo LC-A, LC-A+, or LC-Wide. These premium shooters will surely give you knockout images, even when you’re not looking!

When I was taught to shoot as a teen, I was taught to change your perspective to give your viewers a different way of seeing the world. From waist high or ground high are both good ways to do this. And from the waist also lends itself to easy candid and street photos too. (FWIW, the shot of the Mustang I took seen above was done by squatting down to aim but was about at waist height.)
