Sunset Exposures and Light Painting by the Pier at the Lomography Gallery Store LA!
Join us for a very special workshop field trip where we’ll travel west to the picturesque Santa Monica pier for two workshops in one! First we’ll learn how to take long exposure photos and practice by capturing the stunning Pacific Ocean sunset in all its color-dripping glory. After the sun goes down, we’ll break out the flashlights, glow sticks, cell phones, or any other light source we can snatch and go wild on the pier doing light painting! We’ll learn how to paint with light, draw amazing light masterpieces, or just move our cameras on the pier lights to create abstract light art! Afterwards we’ll head back to the store to chill out and partake in some drinks and snacks! This is going to be an adventure you’ll never forget! Cost: $25, includes transportation to and from the pier, a loaner camera and one free roll of film. All attendees will receive a 10% off coupon to use in the Lomography Gallery Store. Space is limited to just 17 people so register early to ensure your spot on the bus!

In New York City, winter has been harsh and long, the nights long and cold, and shooting outside is not fun anymore. So when the Lomo'Instant Boston Edition hit the shelves this week and the new Splitzer arrived at the Lomography Gallery Store New York, we decided to do a round of light painting portraits instead of sunny ones.
Pixelstick is exactly the must-get tool to create mind-blowing light paintings with different colours and patterns: 1.8 meter long, 200 full colour and high fidelity LEDs! Grab your camera with long exposure mode and a tripod, and you can create dozens of dreamy pictures just by moving your Pixelstick in the dark. Light Painting is a cool technique that we love to do when we're in the mood for experimenting with photos. It's super easy and fun, and it only requires a dark room, a friend or two to collaborate with, a camera with long exposure mode and a light painting tool to get started. Check out 50 of the most vibrant light painting photos taken by your fellow Lomographers after the cut!
The folks over at Lomography Hong Kong donned some Halloween costumes and took the Lomo'Instant for a spin, and produced some spectacular night and light-painted shots. The results are not too spooky but definitely filled with Halloween fun!
