Let’s face it. Mobile devices have become an integral part of our everyday lives. As we go on our daily commute, we have our smartphones and tablets in tow, connecting us to anyone and everyone in any part of the world.

In keeping with the demands and dictates of today’s technology, we are proud to bring you LomoMag. LomoMag aims to deliver the best of Lomography quite literally at your fingertips. It captures the essence of analogue photography today and lets readers access exciting features, exclusive interviews, and helpful how-to tips and reviews. All you need to do is download the app to receive the first and upcoming issues.

LomoMag requires iOS 7.0 or later. Download LomoMag for your iPad for FREE through this link.

To help make LomoMag more attuned to your taste, we’d like to know what you’d like to see in succeeding issues. Please feel free to share your suggestions in the comments section below.

I'm guessing only the first issue will be free but it is only fair. Congrats, the mag looks great (I've crashed it already but don't worry, I have cursed fingers...)!

@stratski -> We started for now with the iPad version to see how the feedback will be and hopefully we will also be able to add android later one!

@snoop from what i saw it looks dope. and nice to see there is one of my pics inside. anyway atm it´s hard to have a closer look at it because it breaks down from time to time when scrolling. 5 minutes open 5 downs. besides that: thumbs up!

  11. snoop

@bloomchen do you see any pattern here? We will also look into this more!

  12. bloomchen
    bloomchen ·

@snoop nope, didn´t notice a pattern. but it just broke down again after opening.
btw: features i like to see: can´t really name it but i think everyone has seen this spot he´d love to visit to take a pic of. for people who did this it would be great to see the inspiration pic and the one shot when finally making it to the place.

more people have android at this point, an android market app is necessary. I can at least still check on flipboard, though I spend an appalling amount of time in front of a computer so it doesn't matter to me much either way.

@objectionableconformity : currently a big majority of tablet users on our website are on iOS. this is why we also decided to start with the iOS version, but we obviously want to expand! thanks!

  27. objectionableconformity
    objectionableconformity ·

@snoop no biggie. I like that you're on flipboard, but I do far more on my PC when I really want to engulf in the vast lomo world. I would be eager to see what your app actually entails though. I am patient.

  28. slerched
    slerched ·

How about adding a Windows 8 App? And Windows Phone 8 App? And Android? I would love to use this app, but don't currently have a device that would allow me the capability. And when I get my Surface 3.... definitely won't be hitting here with anything else.

  29. gui_llaume

Awesome work! Cool to see Lomo pics with this beautiful layout. The app works well, the "Awesome Album" section is much more readable with it. A tipster section would be cool in the succeeding issues.

I feel like I'm missing out as the mag won't download. Tried loads of times and the download keeps stopping just after 50% (around five minutes). Any ideas??

  31. snoop
    snoop ·

concerning the download issues we are now trying out different things. we think it is because the download times out if you have a slower wifi connection. at the moment we can just suggest to re-install the app and download it again. and we are working on an update currently.

  32. bgoh29

  42. snoop
    snoop ·

@chrisg35mm: we are working also on a web version of this. the way that the content flows now it is difficult to showcase e.g. slideshows in a nice way in the pdf. but we are now working on solutions for this too! We will now need to first also solve any problems we have with the current app version and will for sure also look into the webview / pdf solution.

Playing Detective: An Interview with Derek Woods, the Man Behind the Controversial True Detective Photo (NSFW)

Derek Woods is an Los Angeles-based photographer who previously got involved in a controversy surrounding a photo that was used in the opening credits of the HBO TV series "True Detective." Coincidentally, Woods happens to be a member of the Lomo community, and it became vital to interview him regarding the issue. The interview was successful and was published in May last year. His current project, 365 of Lomography, will chronicle his day-to-day exploits with Lomography cameras. To jog your memory, and to re-acquaint you with Woods, we are republishing our interview with the controversial photographer. Please take note that some of the photos are NSFW.
