I got so excited when I got the Petzval Art Lens for testing. Unboxing it was really interesting, let alone the look of the lens made me so happy!
There is really not much to say about this great lens, except for the fact that it is a great piece of photographic equipment. You get a set of different aperture plates and a leather pouch when you get the lens. Of course don’t forget the small beautiful book.
For the test, I chose some flowers and women to be my photographic subjects. It’s really fun to take photos with the *Lomography x Zenit Petzval Art Lens*. The sharp set using the rotary wheel is just great. So far I have mostly photographed with apertures 2.2, 2.8 or 4.
Here are some of my most beautiful nature pictures:
And here are some nice portraits I shot:
The most beloved swirl effect comes stronger with the right background and open aperture 2.2. However, I also find the blurring very nice if you have a more uniform background. So that means you have the option to choose how much you want to see the effect.
But my first impression about this is: I LOVE THIS LENS! And now I’m crying in thoughts of giving it back next week. Thus, I now have to save some money, because I need it urgently. Other reports from the Petzval Lens will follow soon and if you have questions, just write me a comment below.
