San Diego Zoo - (San Diego, CA)

2

The world famous San Diego Zoo, is a location that you must see, if you ever visit San Diego, California.

The San Diego Zoo is famous for having huge variety exotic animals that is sure to amaze you.

First things first, the zoo costs $37USD for adults, $27USD for children, but there are discounted tickets to be had, so search the internet for the best deals. Parking is free, but I would suggest arriving early, as the lot can get pretty full later in the day, especially on weekends.

So, once you are inside the park there are a few different paths to follow. I would suggest grabbing a map so you can make a plan to see everything.
On our trip we chose to make a big circle through the park and see as much as we could on foot for the first part of the day. We encountered flamingos, monkeys, and all sorts of exotic birds all within the first hour.

After another hour of walking we decided to take a break and people watch while we drank some much needed water. At this point we were about halfway around our circle route when we noticed the Elephant Odyssey, which is a new area of the part with elephants, lions, and llamas. This part of the park was amazing; because you really got to see the elephants up close and personal.

Next, we stopped to see the polar bears. These were my favorite animals to watch, because they were so active and playful. I could watch them for hours.

After that we made our way to the bus tour stop, this is a great idea for when you are getting tired feet because you can just hop on the double-deck bus and see the animals from a total different perspective. Another great way to see the park is from the sky-tram. This takes you from one end of the park to the other through the sky; it’s an interesting view of the park that is for sure.

After a long of walking and taking pictures, and one final stop to see the polar bears again, we made our way back to the car and to the hotel and refresh ourselves for a night out.

This zoo is unbeatable in my book and I definitely recommend a visit, I hope someday you will visit it too.

Fantastic shots ! San Diego is probably a bit warm for polar bears though... Anyway, zoos are good places to keep remaining individuals of endangered species...

The World According to Herr Willie: Salvation Mountain

Leonard Knight passed away last year but he left an incredible legacy, an embodiment of love, that is Salvation Mountain. From 1984, he painted and remodeled a little hill in the California desert that's colorful as a cupcake and truly meaningful. And if anything ever would have been meant to be shot with Lomo cameras, it would be this psychedelic, holy hill.

If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!
