This psychedelic display of colors is calling us to pack our bags and move into this magical rainbow city! Is the pot of gold here, too? Kidding! Congratulations alcastan for having our Photo of the Day!
Playing around with colors can yield the most surprising results. Don’t you just agree with us on that after staring at this photo from alcastan? Even the word “colorful” becomes an understatement with this whacked out display of rich colors. This photo was taken using a Minolta Hi-Matic F loaded with Fujicolor Superia X-tra 200 film. You can see more photos from alcastan in this album.
Congratulations to alcastan for winning Photo of the Day!

Canadian-born Ian Taylor is a full-time photographer specializing in kids and development work. It all started when his five siblings started having children at the same time he was into photography. This passion then spiraled into something amazing, and now Ian works primarily with kids, shooting them when they are in their purest form. Based in Asia, Ian has agreed to share this amazing series of photos he shot with his Petzval Art Lens in Cambodia and Thailand. He also shared with us some of his insights and views on photography.
With the frosty months of winter behind us here in the northern hemisphere, we're very happy to see spring is finally here to bring new life and longer days. And this roundup of gorgeous springtime photos shot with the New Petzval Lens is just the ticket to match the season!
As the weather warms up and the sun begins to shine, it's time to take your cameras off the shelf and into action. April is a special month because of Film Photography Day, marking a special date for us film photographers. We need you to help celebrate the wonders of film photography and keep the magic alive. #filmphotographyday2015
I've photographed this city many times in the past—in color, black and white, and even in redscale. One day in March, the streets of Manila once again became my subject. Only this time, they turned into otherworldly places as the LomoChrome Turquoise drastically shifted its colors...at least on film.
Some days, things seem to align for your street shot. The subjects form photo-ready queues that mimic architectural details around. Other times, an arrangement is made. Stretch this way, pose here, move a little forward for a group picture in strategic shapes and patterns.
