Her eagerness to see her film photographs at once encouraged her to learn how to do home developing. Read on to know more about Kathrin aka erisin - our lovely Newcomer of the Week!

Kathrin aka erisin

Name: Kathrin
LomoHome: erisin
Location: Kassel, Germany

Please tell us a little something about yourself.

Hey there! My name is Kathrin. I am 28 years old and I live in a small village near Kassel. I´m a lab technician and addicted to books, chocolate, coffee, and a lot of creative stuff.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I found the Lomography website while I was searching for an Diana F+ and some tips about analog photography. Months later, I decided to join the community because it´s more fun to share the photos and get inspiration from other members.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

Rule No. 10: Don’t worry about any rules.

In this digital age, why still film?

Why not !? It´s special. It´s exciting. I really love the excitement I get from shooting film because you’ll never know what will happen and how your photo would look like. It´s a little bit like Christmas when you were still a little child. You have to take the photos and wait until you finish the whole roll. You develop the film and wait until it is dry. You have to scan the film. Only until then that you have your own special photo that no one else has. That´s also the reason why I self-develop my films, I can´t wait to get them from the lab!

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment?

Pentax ME Super. I bought it at a flea market for a few euro.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

Lubitel 166+.

Any song or movie you live by?

Amélie (The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain )

Share your current favorite Lomograph. Why is this your favorite?

So many LomoHomes and even more great photos! I haven’t seen all so I can´t decide yet, but I really love this photo taken by lilithmoon.

Also, here’s my favorite photo that I took:
