Keith Vaz and his bandmates from Tropics took a trip to play SXSW in Texas last month. He brought his trusty La Sardina along to capture some of the fun, and checked in to let us know how they're getting on.
For this tour we snuck my La Sardina 35mm to SXSW Festival whilst performing showcase shows with our new LA-based label Innovative Leisure. The journey started as a great way to join our new family whilst networking in America, but as night dawned the agenda soon shifted to what Austin-Texas is really about: big wholesome food and well-mixed Margaritas (the aftermath as seen in the photos!) With our Lomo-camera now a cherished part of our luggage itinerary, the next adventures can be found on my page at: facebook.com/withjoyfullips
It's a huge pleasure to introduce our latest LomoAmigo, the fantastically gifted musician James Vincent McMorrow. This year, James launched his new album 'Post Tropical' and we couldn't wait to put a La Sardina camera in hands to play with for the Summer. He took the camera with him on his tour and snapped some truly cool shots. Check them out and read our interview with James below!
A few months ago, Lomography made available a whole range of pinhole cameras made out of premium wood. Interested in knowing how good they are, I brought the medium format one on my last trip to Germany.
Very few of even the most intrepid travelers get to set sail to the Arctic and the Antarctic. A lomographer known to the Community as stouf, however, was able to set foot on both polar regions. While the rare opportunity to visit these uncommon destinations came in parcel with his profession, he did not forget to bring along his trusty cameras and favorite film to capture scenes from the expeditions.
Aside from his pictures, there is more to admire about Stephen Dowling. His extensive knowledge and insight into film photography and cameras are inspiring. Dowling, a BBC editor and analog photographer, tested the LC-A 120 camera and became a LomoAmigo last year. He has since rekindled ties with the Lomo LC-A 120, and brought it on a trip to Malta.
In December last year James Wright, editor and creative director of So It Goes Magazine, went on a two-week trip to Sri Lanka, "a place so long on our bucket list, but up until then, as yet unvisited," he writes on the first of his three-part photo diary. Herein is the second part of his series that chronicles his adventures, highlighted by a selection of breathtaking images of the Sri Lankan countryside and the locals, among many other images, captured with his trusty photographic companions: the Leica MP, Lomo LC-A+, and an assortment of films including the LomoChrome Purple.
Musician and record producer Dustin Tebbutt left sunny Australia and relocated to Sweden for two years. This experience had a significant influence on his musical style, resulting a delicious blend folk and indie-pop. Armed with the Fisheye no. 2, our newest LomAmigo went on a city trip and captured his moments on film. Check out his gallery along with his interview.

Traveling is almost synonymous to taking photographs, and for many photographers, it's always a question of which gear to bring to document their trips with. For Carson Sanders, he brought his Fuji Instax Wide, among other cameras, on his first ever trip to Cuba just last May.
Scott Brasher is a fashion street photographer based in New York City. His work has been featured on many media outlets while working with brands like Cover Girl, MTV, Reebok, and Target, among many others. But before this, Scott started shooting in the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, capturing its daily urban fashion. Last month, he took the Petzval Lens to the streets of New York to photograph scenes at the famous New York Fashion Week.
You want your subject be the center of attention? Petzval lens photos are recognizable for sharpness and crispness in the centre, strong color saturation, wonderful swirly bokeh effect, artful vignettes and narrow depth of field that will make your subjects stand out!
Ron Lau from Lomography's Camera and Lens Development team recently tested the Lomo LC-A Minitar-1 Art Lens. With Leica M2 and Voigtlander R2A cameras, he used the lens to capture scenes from his daily grind and beautiful seascapes from a recent trip. He shares the photos and talks of the Minitar and its capabilities in this brief yet informative interview.
Chris Pollard is a regular name on the Lomography circuit now. He has been testing out the Petzval Lens at various fashion locations for the past few months. Chris recently took the lens out on a day trip to the Tweed Run to capture a very British day out.
His love affair with analog photography started with a Zenit 12 which he received as a birthday present. Almost a decade has passed since but he still continues to capture his everyday life and the spirit of Istanbul's streets on film. Get to know our newcomer of the week from Turkey, Can Ortak also known in the community as psychedelica!
