As intrepid travelers, we don't only search for an adventure or a change of scenery -- we also seek to capture fascinating moments in photographs and tell the compelling stories behind them. In this new series for the Locations section, we showcase some of the most fascinating travel photos by our fellow lomographers, along with their tales from the trip.
Part of the thrill in travel photography is seeking out everyday scenes that you typically won’t find back at home. The photo above, taken by neja out in the streets of Marrakech, Morocco using her Horizon Kompakt, is certainly a testament to this. We got in touch with her to tell us something about it, and she responded with an interesting tale:
“I went to Marrakech for my birthday few years ago with my brother and my then boyfriend. We were just walking around, I was taking pictures of anything which came our way: people washing their cars using water from the rain puddles, fruit sellers, street beggars, and this scene of shoes cleaning. I didn’t see any point in that to be honest as Marrakech was a very dirty and dusty place.”
Don’t forget to visit neja’s album to see more of her snaps from Marrakech!
