This famous building in the centre of Paris was build from 1887 to 1889 by Gustave Eiffel's company for the world exhibition. But he wasn't the architect of this emblem of Paris. "La tour Eiffel" was designed by Stephen Sauvestre. Nobody knows this guy - shit happens!

A good way to get to the “Eiffel Tower” is with the Metro (Line 6 and 9) to “Trocadero”. From this higher level on the other side of the Seine, you have a nice view to this monster of steel. With the RER “C” you can go next to the “Eiffel Tower”, if you leave at “Champ de mars/Tour Eiffel” – what a surprise!
This building is 300 meters high and was the highest building in the world till 1930. You can climb the three platforms of the Eiffel Tower (57m, 115m and 276m) with a great view across the French capital. I love to shoot Lomos at this location because of the rolling forms in contrast with the hard structure of the building. With your lovely Fisheye you can get this effect more and more extreme.
There is another interesting fact for Lomographers. It is allowed to take pictures of the “Eiffel Tower” during the daytime, but the lights of this building have a copyright and you have to pay if you publish those pics – so remember Lomorule #2 “use it any time – day and night” and of course #10 “don’t worry about any rules” ;)
