Snippets and Vignettes: Designers Take on GIF Paranoia

Design enthusiasts and animation lovers unite in this collective GIF project. The repetitive nature of these GIFs may cause you to just stare at them for full 2 minutes or so. We warned you!

We’ve featured movies, people in transit and even a literal view of New York through someone else’s eyes in the Snippets and Vignettes series. But now, we’re giving you something delectable to the eyes, design and animation wise.

Enter the looping world of (this may be too long for a title but here it goes) “I’m not an artist: An Animated GIF Paranoia About Nonstop Design Workers” or just plainly, GIF Paranoia. That may have knocked the wind out of you when you read that one out loud but get a load of their quirky-looking GIF images that mix sheer love for anything design-oriented and good old sense of humor.

As the website says, the project is actually a work in progress commissioned by _Elisava School of Design_ in Barcelona and _Soon in Tokyo_. The starting 56 animated GIFs are now joined by hundreds more that offer everything from the mundane to the hilarious.

Even the simplest idea of folding a paper plane can look like a distinguished feat when you add the right amounts of good taste when it comes to design. I mean, just look at these animated GIFs and tell us that they don’t get to you. It’s not every day you see an animated anatomy of a stapler complete with labels.

Is there any chance we'll be able to up loaded animated gifs or other file types via the lab?
