Name: Hervinsyah Kusumanagara (just call me Epin)
LomoHome: hervinsyah
Location: Bandung, Jawa Barat, Indonesia

When did you first try a Lomography camera or film? What product was it?
It is my classmate ngoki that introduced me to the world of Lomography. In 2008, I bought two cameras, Holga 135 BC and Fisheye No. 2, at Lomography Embassy Jakarta. Since then, I am no longer a homebody! I always go outside and snap everything like crazy.

Was the Lomography product yours or did you borrow it from a relative or friend?
Yes, it’s mine. I’m afraid to borrow other people’s camera. Because if ever I broke or lost it, I would need to buy them a new one!

How was the experience? Any funny or strange occurrences?
It is funny when I am shooting strangers, especially children, and they want to see the result in the LCD screen — the way they would with a digital camera.

Have you used that Lomography product again? Why or why not?
No. I lost my Holga 135 BC in Mecca. On the other hand, my Fisheye No. 2 got broken after I used it under a heavy rain. The shutter release loosened up and won’t click anymore. Also, the internal flash will not produce the blitz light even after I have changed its battery with a new one. I want to repair my Fisheye camera but got no money to pay for the cost. My point is, DON’T SHOOT WITH FISHEYE UNDER THE HEAVY RAIN! That’s why Lomography create Fisheye Submarine! :)

It was Epin’s mom who misplaced his Holga 135 BC. He sees his mom as a great photographer and allowed her to bring the camera to Mecca. Her mom wanted to pay for it but Epin refused. He didn’t even get angry like what he would normally feel when faced by a situation like this. You can read more about this story here.

Can you share with us your favorite or most memorable shot from that First Lomo Affair of yours? Why is it your favorite?

This is my most favorite shot using my Fisheye No. 2! It seems that the tiger scratched the sky making the ray of lights appear like that! It also a favorite among the photos in my LomoHome.

Thank you Epin for being part of My First Lomo Affair series! It is hard to let go of things we love but we hope that Epin’s drive to continue shooting will serve as an inspiration to everyone!

What camera serves as your first Lomo love? How did your first date go? What’s your fondest memory with it? Tell us what it feels like to fall in love with Lomography for the first time! Send us your story at eunice.abique@lomography.com

Lomography Fisheye No.2: Seven Years of Wonder

Exactly seven years ago, I bought this camera from Indonesia's local Lomography community. I remember having some savings in my bank account and just spending it all on this camera. At that time, I browsed the microsite for the Lomography Fisheye No.2 and immediately fell in love with it! Coincidentally, my friend who introduced me to Lomography just bought this same camera for his birthday. My life has changed ever since I had the Fisheye, my first lomographic camera.
