Analogue meets Digital - The new Instax Share Printer

2

Using the Fuji Instax Mini film, this handy little printer does everything that her camera counterparts do...and more.

The newest product from Fujifilm – the Instax Share Printer.

Photo from google.com

This little printer is able to print instant photos from your smartphone; all you need is the Instax SHARE mobile app which can be found on both the Android Market and Apple App Store.

Here are some of the pros and cons of this printer (to me at least)

PROS:
- Quality of photographs are assured
- No wastage of the film
- Smaller and lighter than the cameras
- Ability to edit your photos before printing it! (filters, words, stamps)
- The reprint function allows EVERYONE to own a copy of the photo
- You can print your analogue photos using this printer! Allows you to bring your fave photo around easily :)

CONS:
- It’s not cheap
- You use film up really fast. Like really really fast.
- The magic of taking an instant photo is gone :(

All in all, I think this is a pretty cool product and hope y’all think so, too.

With that said, here are some photos that I have printed – some are digital while some are from my analogue cameras.

Storytelling with Petzvals: Alex Timmermans and the Art of Collodion

Not long after Alex Timmermans purchased his first digital camera at the turn of the century, he quickly realized the trappings of digital photography couldn't fulfill his personal photographic desires. He then began searching for a more challenging process — one that wasn't so predictable. His journey eventually landed him back at the roots of analogue photography, specifically employing the wet plate collodion process using original Petzval lenses. This antique photographic process found in him a renewed inspiration and has since become his passion, which is evident in both his words and his images.

Shooting Analogue with the New Petzval Lens

The New Lomography Petzval Lens is, without a doubt, a striking innovation that has impressed analogue and digital shooters alike. The Petzval works seamlessly with both platforms, producing exceptional and oftentimes dreamy, bokeh-rich images. There are, however, photographers who prefer to shoot analogue and are oblivious to the lure of digital imagery. Here are a few photographers who have chosen film as their go-to medium, and and the Petzval as their ally.
