In this new weekly series for the Locations section, we place the spotlight on some of the must-visit towns and cities around the world -- from traveler favorites to those that are off the beaten path! To kick the series off, the spotlight is on Bali, an island and the smallest province in Indonesia. Touted as a haven for sun-worshippers, beach bums, and lovers of traditional arts, Bali has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world — we have over 15,000 lomographs in the website that certainly prove this! Our fellow lomographers who have visited the island paradise treats us to scenic seaside views, fascinating cultural activities, and interesting snapshots of daily life in the province.

If you’ve never been to Bali but are curious about the sights and scenes that await you there, allow us to give you a glimpse through the lens of our fellow lomographers:

Our fellow lomographers have also written some guides and articles to help you plan your trip and get around locations such as the capital Denpasar, Kuta and its beach, and Ubud, the island’s cultural capital which became famous for the 2010 film Eat, Pray, Love. Don’t forget to check them out!

A series inspired by our Community’s intrepid travelers, Explore puts the spotlight on some of the must-visit places around the world through beautiful and wanderlust-inducing lomographs.
