This photo of former Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten (or John Lydon in real life) was said to be taken during the recording session for the band’s debut single, “Anarchy in the UK,” which was on October 16, 1976. As we all know now, “Anarchy in the UK” would later become not only one of the most popular songs by the Sex Pistols but of the entire punk rock genre itself. Clinching the #56 spot on Rolling Stone magazine’s _500 Greatest Songs of All Time_, the song has also spawned numerous covers by artists including Megadeth and Mötley Crüe.

But of course, nothing beats the original!
