I got one myself in a flea market but to be honest the seller is so scary. He is so tall and got some cool tattoos in his big hand. No I'm not gonna review the seller of this Fed 2 Type 3 and I got the maroon edition. All my friends says the brown is from the blood and I think they're so wrong! This Russian jewel is so lovely and the Industar lens makes the image so old and crisp yet still have that russian mood going on.
FED 2b has flash sync added. The new shutter speed dial has the reference point on a center post that rotates with the dial as the shutter is fired.
The Fed 2 has a curtain shutter with speeds from B, 1/25-1/500s. After detaching the back, two screws on under the camera allow you to adjust the spring tension and change the shutter speeds, which may have become slow over time. As with similar cameras, it’s important to cock the shutter before operating the shutter speed dial. Failing to do so may harm the mechanism. When firing, this dial will rotate. After re-cocking, the speed set will be indicated correctly again.
The Fed takes 39mm screw lenses. The one shown above is a 5cm collapsible Fed lens. Lots of Feds come with Industar lenses. On the collapsible Fed lens, the aperture is set on the front and focusing is done with a lever near the body. The rangefinder is coupled to the lens. The field of view in the viewfinder is that of a 5cm lens. For other focal lengths, a separate turret viewfinder was placed on the accessory shoe.
You see the photo of the Fed 2 maroon that I’ve got and the name I give for this camera is Lola :)
