Travel Bucket List: I Want To Go Back to Pandawa Beach in Bali, Indonesia!

1

Pantai Pandawa is one of the best beaches to relax in Bali, Indonesia.

I went to Pantai Pandawa (Pandawa Beach) to spend my new year holiday in Bali, Indonesia. This is the perfect place for beach lovers looking for a peaceful atmosphere.

It’s named Pantai Pandawa because there are five statues of Pandawa from the Sanskrit epic Mahabharatha. There’s also a Dewi Kunti statue at the road leading to the beach.

A few small canoes welcomed me at the beach front. I looked at the water, which was so clear and blue (and sometimes green)! It made me want to swim but my boss (my dad) did not allow it because we were in a hurry to leave for another destination.

The white sand, blue waters, and the sun shining brightly really cleared my bad mood. Since I came to Bali on December 31st until I went back home to Bandung on January 7th this year, it always rained heavily in Bali.

The traditional boat that was parked off the shore made the atmosphere much more exotic.

Just like everywhere, in Bali you will find “sesajen” by the beach. It’s a kind of offering such as a flower, fruit, or candy put on the road or other places while praying to God. This is Bali, a land of prayer, and you will find “sesajen” at every beach in Bali.

The waves are so massive but many people were happily swimming and simply ignored the “Do not swim” warning flag. But, not to worry, there are lots of beach lifeguards keeping watch at the swimmers.

Bored with swimming? You can also jog or just take a solo lomowalk or a romantic walk with your lover at the side of the beach road.

The massive waves hitting the rock was a very epic moment to capture, but not with a very expired Kodak EPY that produces retro colors.

Shooting this beach and its very beautiful color with very expired film made me regret and want to come back soon to Pantai Pandawa. I should shoot it with fresh films, or expired slide films that will still produce a good xpro color.
