Thursday 6th February from Private View 6 – 9pm @ EAST – Euphoric Serenity by Takeshi Suga
“I believe there’s complete calmness at the height of pure excitement. My main interest as a photographer is to interpret profound beauty and wonder that I encounter in the moments of euphoric serenity. All of the photographs I’m exhibiting here were taken with analogue cameras. I love analogue. It’s more physical and human than digital; it has many unique characters, both good and bad just like us.”
Visit www.sugarcrisp.viewbook.com for more information. Exhibition runs from Thursday 6th – Friday 28th February.

Happenings on Film: Graffiti Contest for Expo 2015

On the last Saturday of July, the old district of Borgo Vico hosted an art and music festival. There was also a graffiti contest, and the winner will exhibit his work at the Como Business Center for Expo 2015. I used my Zorki 4 loaded with an Ilford FP4+ film to document the event. I focused on the young artists who, amid the swirl of activity, had to concentrate on their large-scale pieces.

They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.
