Local Darkroom Helps You to Find Development Services Across the Globe

1

Need help in finding a darkroom in your neck of the woods? Local Darkroom will help you with pinpoint locations to the nearest one in your area!

Darkrooms for film processing aren’t all that common nowadays, so we need all the help we can get in pooling our resources and information. A new website called Local Darkroom does exactly this, cataloging all the active darkrooms in the globe that’s open to help a fellow photographer get his fix.

The website differentiates between public darkrooms, such as a local photoloab, and private darkrooms like the basement in your house! This is a nice option for good Samaritans out there who want to lend a helping hand. If you’re so inclined, register now!

Chuck Close shoots larger-than-life instant portraits of Hollywood's finest personalities

American photorealist and photographer Chuck Close suffers from Prosopagnosia, a disorder that impairs one's ability to recognize faces. Ironically, Close became famous for his huge portraits, which he painted with the help of gridded photographs. In 1988, a seizure resulting from spinal artery collapse rendered him paralyzed from the neck down, but did not stop him from creating masterpieces that patrons enjoy.

Fresh from My Darkroom: Yoga for Africa!

Last Sunday, a great yoga event was held in Cernobbio, a small tourist town near the city of Como. Local association Breathe Como made a performance of power yoga exercises to raise funds for Africa. I developed the film a few days ago, and today I'll show the photos to you! I call this "Fresh From My Darkroom" because I developed the black and white films by myself! Take a look!
