Twosday Tuesday: Being in Two Places at Once

3

Here at Lomography, we always like looking at the creative and random photos submitted by our community members in our downtime. And, amusingly, we find that there are a lot of snapshots that bear a striking resemblance to one another – be it in the way they were composed or in idea – even though they were taken in different parts of the globe!

We’re sure you’ve heard (or maybe even tried) about straddling the borders of two nearby cities so one could be in two places at once. According to this website, the distance between Japan and United Kingdom is more than 5,900 miles when you travel by air. Logically, then, it’s impossible to do the same with these cities when they’re in two separate continents altogether. But hey, we’re talking photography here, where almost every idea one can think of can be done on film. The solution in this case? Film swaps!

The photo above was the product of a collaboration between Japan’s *hodachrome* and UK’s *fotobes*. It was taken in the cities of Nagoya and London with a Lomo LC-A+ loaded with the Lomography X-Pro Slide 100.

Meanwhile, this shot was taken by Japanese Lomographers *orangebird* and *akabee*. Orangebird took her part of the photo in Kagawa while akabee in London. It was taken with a Lomo LC-A+ RL loaded with the Fuji Superia 100.

Tune in next Tuesday for the next of twin photos! In the meantime, check out our Twosday Tuesday series in the Lomography magazine!

Before they became the big shot filmmakers that they are now, they were of course once students making their initial attempts at filmmaking. In this week's list, we're putting the spotlight on these early works by George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, and Roman Polanski!
